Camino de Santiago Cycling Trip

If the French Way is the Path of the Epic, the Portuguese Way is the Path of Lyric.

The pilgrim will not find here the desolate plateaus of the French Way, nor touch the sky with his hands in towering mountains. Nevertheless, in the depths of the "fragas", in the silence of the crossroads near the millenary cruises will leave in his step the amiable shades of the troubadours: Bernal de Bonaval, Martin Codax, Meendiño, the king D. Dinís, undoing cantigas of friend at dusk of the ancient sea of the west.

This path from the seafront starts at Fatima, passing before entering Galicia by Leiria, Figueira da Foz, Mira, Barra, Espinho, Gaia, Porto, Matosinhos, Vila do Conde, Póvoa de Varzim, Esposende, Viana do Castelo and Caminha. The path will emerge with due importance only in modern times, beginning in the fifteenth century, being used by coastal populations and by those who landed in seaports.

The Portuguese Way of the Coast stands out as a unique trip. More than 500 km of pure pleasure. Sandy, wooden walkways, cycle paths, ecovias, breathtaking landscapes, always with the Atlantic Ocean as a common denominator.
